Education beyond barriers
The closing of a classroom door must not close a young woman's future.
Beyond the Closed Doors prepares academically motivated Afghan women and girls for international higher education — combining digital access, structured English and TOEFL preparation, recognized testing, mentorship and university applications into one accountable pathway.
Our mission
A pathway whose destination is higher education
We identify academically motivated Afghan women and girls, equip them with the technology and connectivity required to learn, prepare them in academic English, support recognized testing, connect them with mentors, and help them compete for university admission and scholarships. We are not building a short-term English course — we are building a pathway whose destination is higher education.
Program areas
Three areas, one accountable pathway
How the pathway works
One pathway, four commitments
Every participant moves through the same four commitments — each one funded, documented and accounted for.
Impact
Documented, not decorated
We publish only figures generated by our own program records — never estimates or projections.

Support the pathway
Open a door that was closed.
Every laptop, connection and examination fee is a documented step on one student's pathway to university. Support the work directly, or write to us about a partnership.
